The Bible tells us that only God searches our
heart and mind.1 Satan cannot read our
minds, for if he could, he would never have tempted Judas Iscariot
to betray Christ Jesus.2
Satan knew that many Jewish religious
leaders wanted to kill Christ Jesus, for they had openly plotted
against Him to do so.3 Satan, tempted Judas Iscariot to betray the
Lord; believing that it would bring about the death of our Lord and
Savior. Satan was correct in his belief, however he never knew that
he was furthering God's plan to bring about salvation for mankind.
For if Satan had known this, surely he would not have helped the
Pharisees in carrying out their plan; and God's plan of salvation.
I'm sure he (Satan) shuddered when he realized what he had done
(Satan was ultimately defeated by Christ Jesus on the cross of
Calvary when God judged the sin of the world.)4 Jesus had openly
declared His purpose in coming to earth; to destroy the works of the
Devil and to provide salvation for mankind - if Satan could read
minds, and was all knowing as God is, then he would never have acted
as he did.
