It's sad when one chooses to abuse their spouse. Not only does it affect their relationship with their spouse, but it also affects their relationship with God. Look what the Bible says: "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers." (1 Peter 3:7 NIV) God expects a husband to love his wife and treat her with respect, not abuse her. (Ephesians 3:25-33) God also expects the same of a wife. Likewise, God does not expect parents to abuse their children, but, rather, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4) |
