What does the Bible say about reincarnation?

Reincarnation is the belief that when we die physically, our soul is reborn in another human body.  This belief however differs from biblical teaching.

According to the Bible, when we die, our soul and spirit live on awaiting a time when our body, soul, and spirit will once more be reunited.  This reuniting will take place when our bodies are resurrected from the dead.1

Reincarnation also differs from the biblical teaching that human beings are destined to die only once and after that to face judgment from God.2
