Some believe that the world will end when Christ Jesus returns.  This belief, however, is not supported by the Bible.

In the future, the world will go through a time of tribulation which will last for seven years.  At the end of this seven year period, Christ Jesus will set up His earthly kingdom; it will last for 1000 years.  

Following this 1000 year period, known as the Millennium or Millennial reign of Christ Jesus, the earth will be done away with, or changed, and there will be a new heaven and new earth.¹  All who possess eternal life will spend eternity, with God, upon the new earth.²  All others will spend eternity in the lake of fire; a place prepared for Satan and other fallen angels. ³
