As our Good Shepherd, Jesus watches over and cares for us; He leads us to green pastures with still quiet waters. Yes, sometimes it's rough getting there, but He always gets us there; a time when we can just rest from the hardships of life. As Jesus said:
"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." 1
Are you weary and seeking rest? Allow Jesus to be your Shepherd. He will shepherd you in this life, and even in the next. Of the next life, the following is written of Jesus and His flock:
"they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and He (Jesus) who sits on the throne will spread His tent over them. Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb (Jesus) at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." 2
